Are this year's Prime Day dates different?

This will be the first time in a while that Amazon is holding its summer Prime Day event so early. Prime Day has traditionally been held in July, but will officially kick off on June 23 this year. However, this wouldn't be the first shift we've seen. In 2020, it was pushed to October due to COVID-19; in the following year, the event took place in June. In 2022, the retailer had events in both July and October.

Amazon Prime Day 2026 will kick off on June 23rd and will last through June 26th. That’s four whole days of sales, deals, and discounts for Prime members. Amazon came up with Prime Day in 2015 to celebrate the company’s 20th anniversary, to reward loyal Prime subscribers, and to entice more people to sign up as Prime members themselves. Last year, we saw two different Prime Day events: the main one in July (four days) and another one in October (two days). That’s been the case every since 2022.
