What have been some of the biggest learnings in having a beta for DMZ, and which ones would you apply to the development of future Call of Duty games?

Cecot – We felt like with the DMZ beta, we got to try a bunch of stuff in live, which was really, really good. For learnings… there’s a lot of learnings. We added the Active Duty slots post-launch, because we didn’t have persistent inventory in DMZ, as a way for us to keep persistence on characters so you keep runs going. And then we added Exfil Streaks that gave you different Perks or Traits. And that was a feature that came out of necessity; we didn’t have a persistent inventory at the time. But in the end, it made us unique to a lot of extraction shooters where you had these different chara

Will Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Have SBMM?

However, primarily being an online experience, fans have been wondering how that matchmaking will be handled. Call of Duty is no stranger to SBMM controversy, with Black Ops 7 experiencing several rounds of fan frustrations. While Activision or Infinity Ward have yet to comment on the state of SBMM in Modern Warfare 4, news is apparently on the way. In order to get ahead of the narrative, Infinity Ward co-studio head Mark Grigsby responded to a fan asking about SBMM. According to Grigsby, the studio is preparing to be transparent about this side of the game, promising that all would be reveale

What is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4?

Modern Warfare 4 is the next main installment in the Call of Duty series and is also a direct sequel to 2023’s Modern Warfare 3. Like past games, MW4 is a first-person shooter that features single-player content, multiplayer modes, and more. It is set to continue the story from MW3 and will feature new weapons and maps. It is not a remake or reimagining of a past game in the franchise, but an entirely new installment featuring returning characters as well as some new faces.

When we made Call of Duty: Warzone, we looked at what’s happening in the genre of battle royales. We always talked about, let’s skate where the puck is going, not where the puck is. And so, Call of Duty: Warzone for us was the kind of action BR with the addition of parachutes and buybacks and gulags. For DMZ, we’ve been paying attention to the genre. We try and play every different extraction shooter that comes out, or even games that are slightly similar, just to see what’s clicking with
