Paralives

The Paralives roadmap notes its first major update is planned for Q4 2026, so that's a tentative October to December window. We don't know what the update entails just yet, but we do know it's my favorite price: Free. Until then, the rest of the roadmap outlines a period of hotfixes, bug smashing, and existing feature improvements from June to September 2026. Then there's a broader "within ~2 years of early access" note for more major updates, including a system for weather and seasons, pools, pets, and more.

There are three storytellers to choose from in Paralives: Ricardo Castello III, Maxence, and lastly Stella, who happens to be a dog. These Storytellers have their own preset settings, determining how likely things like pregnancy are, the rate of aging, and a household's starting money. They also provide the player with a choice of Story Cards each night, granting various buffs. More importantly, however, Storytellers dictate the challenges Paras face in their day-to-day lives. Thankfully, it is possible to switch Storyteller at any moment during a playthrough, meaning players can make the game easier or harder after trying things out for themselves. Simply bring up the pause menu by hitting ESC and click the Storyteller button to open up the menu.
