So, where were Sonic games ten years ago, and what was it that prompted Sega to decide it might not bother with the blue blur anymore? My guess is it was the culmination of what had come during the decade before that. Sonic '06, Sonic Unleashed, Sonic the Hedgehog 4, and Sonic Colors, all games that aren't exactly remembered all that fondly. If I were to place exactly where Iizuka was tasked with saving Sonic - or else - then I'd put it right around the time of Sonic Forces' release in 2017. The only new 3D games we've had since then are Sonic Frontiers and the Shadow half of Sonic x Shadow Ge
